Obituary for William R. Cooper

William R. Cooper, on Dec. 13, 2017, age 90, of Dunwoody Village; beloved husband of the late Ethel May (nee Engelkraut), devoted father of Lois Ann (Cooper) Lynch (Dan), Robert William Cooper (Cindy), Gail Louise (Cooper) Todd (Julian)); grandfather of Sean and Danielle Lynch, Lindsay Cooper Levey, Nathan Cooper, Kevin and Eric Todd, great grandfather of Max and Samantha Levey and Trace William Cooper. Memorial Service Thursday at 11 A.M.in the Frank C. Videon Funeral Home, Sproul and Lawrence Roads, Broomall where relatives and friends may call after 9:30 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to the National Down Syndrome Society, P.O. Box 4916, New York, NY 10085. Interment Private.

Bill was born in Philadelphia, PA.. He moved to Havertown and lived in Westgate Hills. At 17 he left high school to enlist in the Navy during WW II. After completing his military service he returned to Havertown and graduated from Haverford High School. He then went to Keystone Business School. During his career he worked in the car industry and retired as Vice President of fleet leasing for Lend Lease Corporation. He enjoyed playing bridge, traveling, and watching Haverford football games. As a family they attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Manoa where he was an active volunteer. After moving to Newtown Square he attended Reformation Lutheran Church in Media. Bill will be remembered by friends and family for his sense of humor
