The property at the present time is approximately 2.2 acres. The house itself, as it stands now, is the result of three major building operations. The original house dates back to 1731 and comprises the main double room and what is above it.

In 1802, the main Center Hall, the Reception Room and the above were added, presumably by Joshua Lawrence. (Date Stone between center window and the adjacent window second floor front.)

In the early 1900's the rear addition was added. This differs from the rest of the house in that this addition is of frame and stucco construction and the remainder is of masonry walls varying from 18 to 24 inches thick.

The house contains five working fire places (one has since closed due to flu liners), two on the main floor, two on the second floor and one in the basement. These fireplaces, at one time were the only means of heating the house. At present, the second floor contains a living room, dining room, kitchen, bedroom, two offices, two bathrooms, two halls and a powder room. The third floor is one large room and two storage rooms.
